2nd Bark [Action] Fourth Wall

[Holy shit this was a bad day to be in the village.

There were a lot of people he didn't particularly know - or care about! - walking around and

it really, really wore on his nerves.

But he's out nonetheless looking for some important people in his life, watching the wingless newcomers warily and keeping to himself. All around the village, too, and later in the forest as well whether or not his search comes up fruitless.]

[Mathias is, as expected, wandering around the plaza. She's not exactly lost, per se - she'd never say that - but she doesn't particularly recognize anyone.

Except for Chien, and a kind smile alights to her face when she notices him.]

L-Lady Mathias?! [Turning to OH HEAVENS IT IS YOU holy shit yes running right up to you, Lady Mathias, like a loyal dog.]

Lady Mathias, it's really you! [Heee~ If his wings weren't hidden under all that clothing, they'd be flapping quite happily.] Chitose and I have been waiting for you.

[Now that-- that was very familiar. Himmel's just exploring the village, stretching his legs after hundreds (thousands) of years of not being able to do so, when he comes upon Chien sneaking around. He sneaks up behind him and watches him curiously.

It's a little easier to tell Cerberus from the rest of the Devas, since he's always reincarnating into someone younger, just like Himmel himself, but he's still a little wary of saying so because he looks more human than dog. But there's that strong pull, and he's never actually met Cerberus but he's heard a little about him from Orifiel and from the common knowledge taught to him, so he likes to think that maybe, he can know him easier than most.

Or maybe not. He's not one to jump on his deductions with strangers.]

[While Cerberus never met Himmel - or anyone besides Asura and Vrtra, the other memories foggy with unimportant instances that thieves tried to steal the Manifest and the like - Chien can tell right off the bat that this guy's not an Avatar. Oh no, he's one of the Devas for sure. Looks young too, so... Maybe he'd been like Cerberus, with the whole being reborn again when they died.]

[Oh. Well. Huh. He shifts a little awkwardly, not entirely sure how to respond to the god - though he used to be one himself, his existence was largely unfriendly - and finally huffing.]

I'm looking for my brothers. I've been told they're probably not here because the cycle's all done and all, but... I'm hoping that, since there's all these people here, I could find them.

[He's never seen two differently colored wings like that before, or a girl with a tail other than back in the pastlives (who didn't have tails then?) so pardon him for staring for a second before replying. Sure ain't human.]

There's no way out. There's this huge barrier thing around the whole place and no one can get out.

[It's during his time in the forest that Chien will encounter something out of the ordinary, even for Luceti. A dark mist crawls about the forest floor, coiling in on itself, swarming and building. No living thing would voluntarily surround itself in that mist, and yet, at its very centre, it's possible to make out the figure of a tall woman.]

[Chien's naturally wary of this for a number of reasons (black mist never means anything good, it's unusual to see in the forest, and Mallos for a last) but he's curious enough that he'll approach it warily, guard up and sweeping away the mist with a hand.]

Hey, what're you doing out here? It's dangerous. [... Actually she looks pretty imposing herself in that mist.]

[No matter how many times he sweeps away the mist, it always returns, slightly more than before.

The woman within the mist turns to face him. When she speaks, her voice is perfectly detached. It's a voice that inspires the darkest emotions of fear and hopelessness in any who hear it.]

Child of the gods, I offer you an end to your eternal loneliness.

[He shivers when she speaks, drawing into himself and biting his lip. Thinking about Cer and Ber. Chitose had helped stave off the loneliness some, but... His brothers were what he needed.]

W-What do you mean, an end? [And how did she know he wasn't human? He... can't deny the loneliness though, so.]

[She's watching him, unsure. There are so many strange beings around here... She doesn't understand.

Her ears flatten on her head as she ducks to avoid some strangers. She needed to get home, before her mom and dad- more her dad actually, started to worry.]

[Well, doesn't that little ball of fur look familiar. Considering he's only seen one lioness.

While she's avoiding some strangers, he'll be getting on his hands and knees himself and crawling up to her like that. Like an animal.]

You are a lion. A baby one. [He's friendly, even if he doesn't really look like it.] Are you looking for someone?

Kiara blinks, wary. After all, maybe he will hurt her. She gives a slow nod.]
